Welcome to all my new subscribers.
I wanted to pop in and let you all know that my teaching schedule is peaking right now which is why my posting schedule here is a little sparse this month. It will pick up again soon, I have several posts in the works, including three highlighting amazing local artists. Later this week, a post featuring the work of local Botanical Painter Beverly Duncan will be sent out, followed by a post featuring painter/printmaker and the creator of the Magical Nature Tarot Marjorie (Jorie) Morgan and finally and interview with mediumistic painter and story teller Gale Blacksnake. Stay tuned
Here is my teaching schedule for the next few weeks:
Intro to Botanical Cyanotype at Sawmill Farm
Intro to EcoPrinting at River Valley Co-op, Northampton
A Mini Series in Artist Bookmaking Tuesdays August 8 /22nd, 5:30-8pm, Conway MA
Explosion books are small, square books which “explode” into a series of square and triangular pages when you open them. They are also super structural and angular making them a favorite to display. The magical infinity book is a clever card form that you can open indefinitely, seemingly showing new pages/designs.
No prior experience needed. If you have images (photos, patterns, old art) you would like to use please bring them otherwise I will be supplies all supplies!)
and coming soon….
Art That Breathes: A festival celebrating the Botanical Arts, City Space, Easthampton MA (Sept 15-17)
This festival will consist of a friday night panel and craft fair featuring local artists who walk, work, play and pray at the intersection of art and herbalism and two days of classes.
I am so grateful for all the amazing participants who attended all my classes this past month at the Arnold Arboretum at Harvard University, at the Westborough Library, Ashfield Library (thanks to the MA Cultural Council), at Tower Hill Botanical Gardens (just named the best Botanical Garden in the country), and at Looky Here Greenfield.
And finally submissions are still open for The Art Wall at Rhynia, inc’s fourth monthly show- “Little Boxes” opening August 11th 2023. Please email me if you would like more information.
Hope to see you all around.
